संस्कृतं योगः वैदिकोद्गीतिः आयुर्वेदः इत्यादीनि
अधुना च प्रौद्योगिकीसंवादयोः अस्मिन् युगे 
यदि हिन्दवः स्वसंस्कृतेः पठनं कुर्वन्ति न
तर्हि अदः विज्ञानं अन्धश्रद्धा भविष्यति

Thunder dancing

अयम् मृदङ्गः"पखावज्" वेति । हिन्दीभाषायामिव यद्कथ्यते । अस्य गम्भीरस् ताले नृत् मेघनाद इव ||

This drum or pakhaavaj like what is said in the hindi language, the bass of it is like thunder dancing in rhythm.

HEAT

सूर्यनमस्कारस्य रहस्यं श्वासः |
यदा आसनानि तीव्रश्वासतया क्रियन्ते
तदा तेषांक्रमाः तपं जनन्ति |
मणिपूरश्च क्रमश्वासाभ्याम् पटूक्रियते ||

The secret of the Suryanamaskar is the breath,
Whenever the postures are done with intense breathing
Then the sequences of them, produces heat and

Welcome to the freak show

In reality social media, organisations and other characters within the practice of yoga have beeng making the practice of yoga into a circus .. That simple kriyas like Suryanamaskar is really over looked and other simple ones like legs lifts and torso lifts which build core strength are not put into consideration for more advance poses of which is thrown at the public .I was in one class where the teacher insisted that the new students do headstand who couldn't do it were told their necks are not strong enough, rather than core and shoulder strength is needed to develop first before attempting the posture. In that, many people are deterred from the practice thinking they can't do this or can't do that or they don't have the body type, I'm not flexible etc. There is even new trend of what some may say fat people doing yoga but interestingly enough,they're not highlighting the many kriyas for such a body types which will prepare them for many other postures they only doing the same complex postures that most people find "far fetched" or difficult to do in advance stage of the practice . I have even seen Rage yoga {yoga while drinking beers and shouting obscenities to relive stress} under water yoga, naked yoga and the list of new age yoga is increasing .I don't know what to make of yoga in the western world its seems to be in the fast lane running far from its roots into some sort of freak show ..

Lesson learnt

पूर्वमेव हठयोगो भवता अक्रियत वेति वृद्धमपृच्छम् |

तस्य उत्तरमासीत् किञ्चित् उच्चैर् वदतु 

यदा भवान् संस्कृतभाषायां वदति तदा भवान् स्वमुखम् अपावृणोतु 

किन्तु योगस्य कुशलशिक्षको भविष्यतीति ||

I asked the old man," before was haThayoga ever done by you."

कृपया ते जीवनेन किमपि करोतु ।
यतोहि न कश् चित् त ईषदपि करिष्यति ॥

उच्यते यःस्वधिष्ठानं विप्रचिन्तयति | सिद्धीनाम् इयं सूचिर्लभ्यते | स शत्रुभ्यो निर्मुक्तो भवति | योगिषु सः प्रसिद्धोभवति | तस्यअभिभाषनम् वावदूकत्वेन स्पष्टम् अभिभाषते | जलस्य भयो न वर्तते | सोऽनेकलोकानां विज्ञापितीभवति | स च अन्येभ्यः स्वयम् वा कामितम् ईषदपि रसयितुम् शक्नोतीति ||

It is said, who meditates on the Svadhisthana chakra , this list of siddhis is obtained. He becomes freed from enemies, he becomes famous among Yogis, his speech is uttered clearly with eloquence , he becomes aware of multiple worlds and he is able to taste anything desired for others or his own self.

What is it ?

अधुना यदि इदं पृच्छ्यते "कः वेदः अस्ति" इति |
इदं परिभाष्यते वेदः वाक्यम् अस्ति यस्य अयं मानवेन न जन्यते |

Fatel Razack was name of the first ship to bring indentured labourers from India to Trinidad. The ship was built in Aprenade  for a trader. The trader's named was Ibrahim Bin Yussef , he was a Indian Muslim merchant in Bombay. It was constructed from teak and also capacity of it was 415 tons.When the British decided they were going to bring Indians into  Trinidad in 1845, most of the traditional British ship owners did not wish to be involved. The confusion about the  proper name possibly came from the name "Futtle Razak", which was on the ship's cargo .


The ship was originally named Cecrops, but when it was delivered then it's name was changed  to Fath Al Razack. The ship left Calcutta on 16 February 1845 and it disembarked in the Gulf of Paria on 30 May 1845, with 227 migrants

चण्डिके सततं युद्धे जयन्ति पापनाशिनि ।
रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि ॥

हे देवि चण्डि ! एका या युद्धे सर्वदा विजयते | या पापानि अवाकरोति |
त्वं सौन्दर्यं सत्यजितिं प्रसिद्धिं च मह्यं प्रयच्छ | त्वं मम शत्रून् मारयत ||


Oh ! Devi Chandika, Who is Always Victorious in the Battle, and Who is the Destroyer of all Sins.
Please Grant (form) Beauty, Please Grant Victory, Please Grant  Fame and Please  kill the Enemy.


केषुचित् अनुवादेषु द्वितीयरेखायाम्  शब्दाः "रूपं जयं यशस्" इति मानसत्वस्य सन्दर्भे अवगम्येरन् | चापि "द्विषो जहि" इति इयं वाक् आन्तरसङ्घट्ट-विघटनस्य सन्दर्भे अवगम्येत ||

In some translations the words in the second line, "form victory and fame", should be understood in the context of spirituality and even , "kill the enemy" should be understood in the context of destruction of inner conflicts.


तथा पठकः देवीम् अभियाचति हे देवि ! तव रूपम् आत्मज्ञानरूपे मयि स्वरूपतस् आविष्करोतु "रूपम् सौन्दर्यम्" इति | "जयः स्वमानसत्वेष्ट्याम् " इति  तथा मायायाः शक्तिः त्वया नश्यताम् | मायायाः निरासेन  यशस् आगमिष्यते  | इदं यशस् भावनामार्गोsस्ति  | "द्विषोविघ्नः आन्तरसङ्घट्ट-विघटनम् "इति  अतः अशुभविघ्नाः च सर्वे ये स्वाध्यात्मविद्यां प्रतिरुन्धन्ति | त्वं तान् उच्छिन्द्धि इति | इयं प्रार्थना | यद्यपि केचित् तान्त्रिकाः अन्यथाकारम् वदेयुः ||

Thus the reciter asks the Devi, May your form (form is beauty) manifest in my in the form of Self. knowledge. (Victory is my own endeavoring of spirituality) Thus May the power of illusions destroyed by you. Fame will come with the removal of illusions. This fame is a spiritual state, and kill the enemy is the destruction of impediments, so all inauspicious obstacles which prevent my spiritual knowledge , please destroy them. This is the request. Although some Tantrics may say otherwise.

वरदेभ्योदेवेभ्योऽस्मदीयप्रार्थनामुद्वहोदिव्यलोकेष्वन्तर् उज्ज्वल |
अग्ने घृतप्रसत्त वेददर्शन स्वपरितुष्ट्यैकाष्ठसर्पिष्टरयोर् होमीकुर्मः ||

Light up into the realm of the Gods carrying our request to the Gods who are ready to fulfill prayers.
Oh! Agni , who is  appeased with ghee and who is mentioned in the Vedas , we do make offerings of the more genuine clarified butter and fire wood for your own complete satisfaction.

The Traveller

"है शम्भुपुत्र ! ब्रह्माण्डेऽन्तर् बह्वीर्नीवृतीःपर्याटिथ |

आस्स्गार्द्देशं तु नैव पूर्वं त्वमुपजगामे"ति सोवाच ||

Pain free

केभ्यश्चित् वर्षेभ्यःपूर्वम् पतता द्रव्येणे मम दक्षिणाङ्घ्रिस्कन्धोsहिंस्यत | बहुभ्यो वर्षेभ्योऽयम् अपीड्यत किन्तु यतो मया हठयोगोsक्रियत | सर्वा पीडा अपगता | अधुना कदाचित् योऽङ्घ्रिस्कन्धोsहिंस्यत इति संस्मरामि न | यतोहि... अबाधोsस्म्यहम् ||

Some years ago my right ankle was injured by a falling object , for many years it pained. However since by me hathayoga was done, all the pain vanished . Now sometimes I don't remember which ankles was injured, because I am pain free.

On the date 08/04/16 The summons of the court was delivered by me to Mr. Vikram .Mr. Vikram having accepted the summons  wrote his own signature on the affidavit . He stated," I will attend to the court matter on the mentioned date."

Sometimes I really wish to write my reports in Sanskrit because simple English is not understood by those lawyers , it appears simple English is difficult.

What village

The statement "it takes a village to raise a child " has a lot of meaning but most people don' t even understand. The statement is very literal. Previously two villages would have a huge marriage ceremony. Where a boy/man would marry a girl/woman each village having common ground culture practices etc.The customs religion and value system of the two entities is what raised those kids In a sub structure of it would be two large extended families would be doing the same exact thing. Then from that somewhere down the line we adapted the idea of leaving your family to start a family of your own. So mommy daddy and kids. In school in Social Studies they call it the Nuclear family and it was held in high esteem .To me it is really a Nuclear family a bloody bomb. What now we have growing at a alarming rate is a bunch of independent females with kids likewise men running around independent single and proud another structure society seems to be proud of, from my perspective its a total break down of the family structure. Then we see decadent behavior patterns of children and run to our famous quote so we can feel good about our selves,"it takes a village to raise a child " However in reality the village doesn't exist anymore or in its new form its the internet globalization Television Music mass communication and a bunch of semi literate adults who think stating the obvious via a quote would help. So silly people society as sick as it is, is molding and raising children not aliens from space.

भाषाया एकंप्रधानंलक्षणम्स्वव्याकरणमस्तीति वाच्यम् ||

However it should be said, one of the main characteristics of the language is its own grammar.

The real Fireman

योगे अभ्यासःवर्तते यत्र योगिनः स्वशरीराणां  तापमानम्  परिवर्तितुम्  शक्नुवन्ति | तेषां तापमानम् उत्तुङ्गम् अतीव भवेत् इदं वा अनुच्चम्  अतीवस्यात् | तथा केषुचनान्येषु परिस्थितिषु स्वशरीराणाम् तापमानम् अनुच्चम् तावत् भवेत् ते अतीवशीतलजले  तिष्ठेयुः  ||

In yoga a practice exist wherein the yogis are able to change their own body's temperature. Their temperature could become very high or it could be very low . So in some other cases their own body's temperature could become so greatly low they could stay in very cold water.

यदागीर्वाणभाषापर्यवाप्स्यत |
तदासेतवोव्यरचयिष्यन्त  |

Whenever the Sanskrit language is studied
Then bridges would be  built,

Children are just a reflection of their own environment , you have a unhealthy environment like wise it would produce such children. So while we sit and consider bringing back corporal punishment , punishment for parents, blaming the parents for not being strict , blaming the government etc . The Best Exercise

अस्मिन् चित्रे व्यपदेशः सम्यक् भवति | प्रतिदिनं सर्वाः समीचीनाः सूचनाः क्रियन्ते मया | किन्तु सर्वेषु अभ्यसनेषु एकः उत्तमः सूर्यनमस्कारःअस्ति| इदम् अभ्यसनं बहून् शारीरक-लाभान् मे आनयति स्म |चापि सुखचित्तम् लब्धम् अहमापि इदम् शरीरस्य सूक्ष्मभूतानि अभिस्पृशति इति चिन्तयामि | कानिचित् उदाहरणानि "सप्तचक्राः सूक्ष्मशरीरस्य केचन भागाः इत्यादीनि" भवन्ति | पूर्वमेव मया धावनम् कृतं परन्तु इदानीम् क्रियते न | यतोहि द्वैसन्ध्ये द्वेधाप्रतिदिनं सूर्यनमस्करः क्रियते | अपि नमस्कारस्य ते गतयः अन्यैः आसनैः उपकारं कुर्वन्ति यदि कश्चित् अन्यानि आसनानि कर्तुमिच्छति ||

In the picture the  information is correct. Every day all those great suggestions are done by me. However among all the exercises the best one is the  sUryanamaskAraH . This exercise brought to me many physical benefits and also a peace of mind was obtained. I think it also affects the subtle elements of the body. Some examples are the seven chakras and parts of the subtle body etc. Before running was done by me but now it's not done,because twice daily  in the morning and in the evening, sUryanamaskAraH is done, also those movements of the namaskAraH do assist with other postures if someone desire to do them.

glānir alpayati | śarīram  balaṃsatvaṃvardhate | pratirakṣāpraṇālī rudhirapravāhaḥ pācakaśca viśodhayanti |

The Highly distinguished Bellur Krishnamachar Sundararaja Iyengar who was one of the foremost yoga  teachers in the world .He said ,the shoulders legs spine are stretched by this posture . It strengthens throughout the body particularly the legs feet and arms. Fatigue  reduces the body is rejuvenated , the immune system blood flow and digestion  improves and also the mind become calm

My friend via Twitter asked , The stem becomes "tiSTha", this stem came from this root "sthA." If this result would be on account of reduplication, then why this root "sthA" is placed in the first group?

English Hanuman pose or Monkey pose


Etymology
The name of the posture came from the word Hanumat ,who in the Hindu Faith appears like a monkey. The posture commemorates the great leap made by Shree Hanuman to the island of Shree Lanka from India .

Description
The yogi pushes one foot forward and the other foot backward up to which his both feet are turn in the opposite directions. Once he places his own feet into place then many variations of the posture could be done with the both arm and the upper body and also the gesture of benedictions could be done.

Benefits
This posture has great spiritual significance as well as it requires a flexible body. The groin and muscles (hamstring) at the back of the thigh are stretched by this posture.

In the past few months these raagas , ahir bhairav zriimat bhairav kafi kanada and nayaki kanada song by Pandit Mallickarjun Mansur, they were listen to by me via Youtube . However within the past few days raaga yaman kalyan song by the same singer its now became my favorite. I also now am enchanted be the rendition of the raaga be the singer . In a past interview he said this raaga yaman kalyan is my own favorite. Now I will download the rendition of the raaga by the singer on my cell phone. Sometimes I wonder what is my connection to this type of music.

The beauty of language

अहम् "भाषा सुजाततन्तुरिव वर्तते | येन सम्प्रति संस्कृतिः सेवनीयतन्तुकार्यमिव भवति अथापि संस्कृतेर् अवगमने भाषामध्ये शब्दानाम् सन्दर्भार्थौ अवगम्येताम् " इति अवचम् ||

I said," language is like a fine thread , by which rightly culture becomes like fabric to be sewn together, so in the understanding of culture the context and meaning of words within the language must be understood."
