Fierce

चण्डिके सततं युद्धे जयन्ति पापनाशिनि ।
रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि ॥

हे देवि चण्डि ! एका या युद्धे सर्वदा विजयते | या पापानि अवाकरोति |
त्वं सौन्दर्यं सत्यजितिं प्रसिद्धिं च मह्यं प्रयच्छ | त्वं मम शत्रून् मारयत ||


Oh ! Devi Chandika, Who is Always Victorious in the Battle, and Who is the Destroyer of all Sins.
Please Grant (form) Beauty, Please Grant Victory, Please Grant  Fame and Please  kill the Enemy.


केषुचित् अनुवादेषु द्वितीयरेखायाम्  शब्दाः "रूपं जयं यशस्" इति मानसत्वस्य सन्दर्भे अवगम्येरन् | चापि "द्विषो जहि" इति इयं वाक् आन्तरसङ्घट्ट-विघटनस्य सन्दर्भे अवगम्येत ||

In some translations the words in the second line, "form victory and fame", should be understood in the context of spirituality and even , "kill the enemy" should be understood in the context of destruction of inner conflicts.


तथा पठकः देवीम् अभियाचति हे देवि ! तव रूपम् आत्मज्ञानरूपे मयि स्वरूपतस् आविष्करोतु "रूपम् सौन्दर्यम्" इति | "जयः स्वमानसत्वेष्ट्याम् " इति  तथा मायायाः शक्तिः त्वया नश्यताम् | मायायाः निरासेन  यशस् आगमिष्यते  | इदं यशस् भावनामार्गोsस्ति  | "द्विषोविघ्नः आन्तरसङ्घट्ट-विघटनम् "इति  अतः अशुभविघ्नाः च सर्वे ये स्वाध्यात्मविद्यां प्रतिरुन्धन्ति | त्वं तान् उच्छिन्द्धि इति | इयं प्रार्थना | यद्यपि केचित् तान्त्रिकाः अन्यथाकारम् वदेयुः ||

Thus the reciter asks the Devi, May your form (form is beauty) manifest in my in the form of Self. knowledge. (Victory is my own endeavoring of spirituality) Thus May the power of illusions destroyed by you. Fame will come with the removal of illusions. This fame is a spiritual state, and kill the enemy is the destruction of impediments, so all inauspicious obstacles which prevent my spiritual knowledge , please destroy them. This is the request. Although some Tantrics may say otherwise.
