What village

The statement "it takes a village to raise a child " has a lot of meaning but most people don' t even understand. The statement is very literal. Previously two villages would have a huge marriage ceremony. Where a boy/man would marry a girl/woman each village having common ground culture practices etc.The customs religion and value system of the two entities is what raised those kids In a sub structure of it would be two large extended families would be doing the same exact thing. Then from that somewhere down the line we adapted the idea of leaving your family to start a family of your own. So mommy daddy and kids. In school in Social Studies they call it the Nuclear family and it was held in high esteem .To me it is really a Nuclear family a bloody bomb. What now we have growing at a alarming rate is a bunch of independent females with kids likewise men running around independent single and proud another structure society seems to be proud of, from my perspective its a total break down of the family structure. Then we see decadent behavior patterns of children and run to our famous quote so we can feel good about our selves,"it takes a village to raise a child " However in reality the village doesn't exist anymore or in its new form its the internet globalization Television Music mass communication and a bunch of semi literate adults who think stating the obvious via a quote would help. So silly people society as sick as it is, is molding and raising children not aliens from space.
