Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge Pose)
Tension is released from the hip
Muscles around the thigh bone are stretched ( hamstrings, quads,)
The Knee is strengthen
and also it helps to build mental focus.

सालम्बसर्वाङ्गासनम् |
उदरककोष्ठाः काकलम् च पटूकुर्वन्ति |
स्कन्धौ ग्रीवा च समातन्वन्ति |
नितम्बौ नलकिन्यौ च तीव्रयन्ति
पक्तिर् आप्यायिता भवति |
परिश्रान्तिर् औन्निद्र्यम् च अल्पयन्ति ||

The thyroid and abdominal organs are stimulated
The shoulders and neck are stretched
The legs and buttocks are strengthened
Digestion is improved

Political jibba jabba

I"m constantly being dragged into political discourses and asked for comments especially along the lines as to who built this nation. Whether this party or that party. I also seem not to fit into the conversations well because some how most peoples concept of nation building are " buildings , more schools, roads, proper infrastructure creating jobs etc . If these attributes consist of nation building, well the long constant nonsensical gibberish can continue with out me because if this only can be seen and can be considered as nation building well so be it . Proper infrastructure and well paying jobs can come from any Pimp,Politician,Conman, Money launderer,Financial tycoon, Drug don etc. So it appears once people's eyes are filled with something new to look at and bulging wallets , the nation is building. Pity is the new buildings may be filled with workers who productivity maybe close to nil and boast of getting a back pay from the state or holding the country ransom for a pay increase. New Schools filled with teachers who are stressed out abused by students desiring more money also and yet producing wave and waves of ill educated youths that flood the populace every year with a educational system that is deteriorating with momentum , everyone now has a degree yet bereft of common sense and ideas on how to deal with life on a day to day basis. Gender issues thrown out the same beautiful building's window by some government for the sake of some religious turd reading some book written thousands of years ago that has nothing to do with our modern life.. Defenseless children being abused. More modern high Tech hospitals for citizens who would refuse to make better healthy lifestyle habits to fill these nation building hospitals with patients with lifestyle diseases burdening the health system. Change laws because of the senseless carnage on the roadways and would not face reality that we drive reckless and alcoholism,drinking and driving is a accepted norm " we ting" Trini 2 de bone" A obviously out dated Judiciary functioning in a fast paced evolving unstable society. More Police Stations filled with officers whose moral compass is out of order.Contracts being given out to the party affiliates who pave and pave and build drains by the use of second sometimes third going into fourth subcontractors so every one as we say can "eat ah food" Everyone gainfully employed in sometimes their unsustainable jobs with rents derived from oil and gas sales and cant really produce anything marketable for trade and commerce in a competitive international world market. Crime being a multi billion dollar industry finding its way very comfortably into our culture, way of life, thinking, behavior gun culture etc. Gangs , religious fundamentalist nut jobs gang leader with their modern name community leaders with government contracts building their own state within a state... and the list can go on. This is nation building ? How about asking the question which government invested in CITIZEN BUILDING or which Government nurtured a well rounded model citizen with ideas of a well balance culture which included open mindedness, values, critical thinking which will encourage everyone to strive for excellence dealing with the highly volatile world we live in . A Proper CULTURE is the foundation of great nation building. Just in bare in mind our neighbor next door Barbados is a considered a first world state and they don't have natural resources as we do I believe or Singapore's well renown changes which took place in a short space of time. These places value people and ideas not box drains or symphony halls with out the symphony, their culture changing ideas set them apart from the rest. So next clown who asks me that silly question to keep in most people's correct context ,be warn my response will be " the British built the nation and left it in the hands of semi illiterate people who cant tell the difference from their ass and elbow" and believe me I can go into detail of my response if you so desire...

Breaking barriers

गतसप्ताहे योगकक्षायाम् योगी उक्तवान् सर्वे भवन्त इदम्  आसनं कर्तुं प्रयतेरन् "पश्चिमोत्तानासनम्" इदम् अभिशब्दयति | यदि सर्वे भवन्तः तेन उपक्रियाम्  किञ्चित् इच्छन्ति तर्हि कृपया अस्मिन् आसनेऽन्तर् अधिकतमविस्तारम्  लब्धुं  स्वसहपाठीनाम् पृष्ठ उपनिगृह्णान्तु इति | यदा इयं क्रिया मह्यम् अकरोत् | अहं तादृक्षम्  प्रलम्बम् स्वशरीरम् न जातु अनुभवामि स्म इति चिन्तयामि | अनुभव उत्कृष्ट आसीत् | श्वः कक्षा पुनः भविष्यति अहं च द्रक्ष्यामि  ये सीमकाः स्वशरीरेण पुनः छिद्येरन्  इति |
पश्चिमोत्तानासनम् | अस्मिन् आसने शान्तिः मनसे आगच्छेत् अपिच मृदुलम् विमनिमानम् अल्पयति ||

Last week in yoga class the yogi said," you all should try to do this posture, "Paschimottanasana ,Seated Forward Bend" it is called. If you'll need some help with then you'll must push down upon the back or your own classmates to obtain the maximum stretch in the posture. When this action was done to me. I think I never felt my own body bending the upper part of the body forward like that. The experience was most outstanding. Tomorrow will be class again and I will see which limits could be broken by my own body again.



                             

Headstand

निपातस्य भीतिः प्रधानकारणम् अस्ति |
येन शीर्षासनं कर्तुं न शक्नोम्यहम् इति मन्ये  |
उच्चैर्गतिरेकविषयोऽस्ति |
कथं कदा च त्वं आसनात् अवरोहितुम् निश्चयं करोषि |
अथ अयम् उद्गमम् इतरतोsस्ति ||

I think the fear of falling is the main reason by which I am not able to do the headstand.
Going up is one matter, how and when you do decide to come down from the posture, now that is different from going up.


                             

Known as

Dance into Ecstasy

I once read long ago in some book,"these African people dance all through the night outside the fire place, and this dance caused the awakening of their kundalini. After they will go into a kind of trance."  It also appears another form of dance is seen done by the Sufi Muslims and they also go into a kind of trance from the always moving about rotation within their own dance.

More Tea please

अन्तर्जालस्य शब्दकोश इमे पदे लिखिते चाय n. चाया f. इति |
तयोर् यद् एकम् उपयुज्येत इति जाने नाहम् :( | किन्तु संस्कृतभाषायाः देशिकवाचक उक्तवान् वयं गृहे चायम् इति वदामः इति |तथा चायम् इति तर्हीदम् पदम् उपयोक्ष्यते | इदानीम् किमर्थम्  Lipton​  लिखितवान् "chai tea" इति |  यदि चायमिति आङ्ग्लभाषायाम् पदस्य अर्थः tea इति | तर्हीदम् उद्येत tea tea चाय चाय वेति :p | इदं वा भवेत् भारत इदं चायम् आङ्ग्लचायात् अन्यादृशपानीयम् एव भवति इति | निश्चयोनास्मि | सर्वाणि चायानि पीयेरन् | किन्तु जानेऽहम् ट्रिणिडाड्देशे सर्वाणि उष्णानि पानीयानि अस्माभिः परिकथ्यन्ते चायं tea वेति अट्टंहसामि  ||

On the online dictionary these two words were written , cAya n cAyA f. Which one of them both could be used I don't know. However a native #Sanskrit speaker said " at home we say cAyam."So then this word cAyam will be used . Now why Lipton wrote,"chai tea," if in English the meaning of cAyam is tea, then it could be saying  cAya cAya or tea tea .....or may be in India Tea really becomes a different drink from English tea, I am not sure.
All teas could be drinked but I know in Trinidad all hot drinks are call by us,"tea"...laugh out loud....


                                     

Computers

सङ्गणकयन्त्रभाषायाम् किञ्चित् सादृश्यम् संस्कृतभाषायाः व्याकरणेन दृश्येत किन्तु न चिन्तयाम्यहम् सङ्गणकयन्त्रस्य आधुनिकप्रयोगे भाषा तस्मिन् अन्तर् शारीरिकयेत् इति ||

In the language of computers some similarity is seen with the grammar of the Sanskrit language. However I do not think in the modern use of the computer the language could be incorporated into it.

So in our country at the time of Divali here is a Festival. It is called Raamleelaby us .
In this festival a theatre is done all around the country by kids on the topic of the life of Shree Ram.
On the topic of Shree Ram all these theatres are usually done in English and some Hindi. Now my Sanskrit lecturer said, we could try to put some Sanskrit in these theatres , he also said only a few Sanskrit words should be desired by us to place in these theatres . I believe this idea is a very good method for kids to understand some Sanskrit...
