विघ्नमुक्तनिग्रहपाशाय
रूढिपोषद्द्वात्रिंशत्रूपाय
दुर्दान्तास्मच्चिह्नवाहाय
कार्त्तिकेयभ्रात्रेप्रणमामः
We make obeisance to the brother of Karttikeya, whose vehicle (the mouse) is symbol of the uncontrolled ego, whose thirty two forms nourishes traditions, whose Pāsha (noose, rope) Binds and frees obstacles, whose hand carries the supernatural noose.
