देवराजसेव्यमानपावनांघ्रिपङ्कजं
व्यालयज्ञसूत्रमिन्दुशेखरं कृपाकरम् ।
नारदादियोगिवृन्दवन्दितं दिगंबरं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥१॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति | यः दिगम्बरः अस्ति | यः नारदेन योगिभिः वृन्दैः वन्दितः आदयः ||
यः कृपाकरः अस्ति | यस्य शेखरः इन्दुः अस्ति | यस्य यज्ञसूत्रं व्यालः अस्ति | यस्य पावनौ पङ्कज-अङ्घ्री देवानाम् राजेन सेव्यमानौ स्तः ||
I worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi , who is sky clothed (naked or clothed with all directions ) who is praise enthusiastically by the multitude of singers and musians, Narada Muni Yogis etc. Who is extremely compassionate. Whose crown is the Moon,whose yajnopavita ( janeu scared thread ) is a snake, whose holy lotus feet is being served by the King of the Gods ( Indra)
भानुकोटिभास्वरं भवाब्धितारकं परं
नीलकण्ठमीप्सितार्थदायकं त्रिलोचनम् ।
कालकालमंबुजाक्षमक्षशूलमक्षरं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥२॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
यः अक्षरः अस्ति | अक्षे यस्य शूलः वर्तते | यस्य अक्षाणि इव अम्बुजाः सन्ति | कालस्य यस्य कालः अस्ति ||
यः त्रिलोचनः अस्ति | यः ईप्सितानाम् अर्थस्य च दायकः अस्ति |
यस्य कण्ठः नीलः अस्ति | यः परः अस्ति | यः भवस्य अब्धिं तारकः अस्ति | यः कोटिभानूनां भास्वरः अस्ति ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi , who is imperishable, whose pointed weapon is on the Axis ( terrestrial latitude or the three worlds ) whose eyes are like lotuses, whose end time is of death ( immortal) who is three eyed, who is the bestower of wealth and desires, whose throat is blue, who is the supreme, who enables to carry us over the sea of material existence, and whose brilliance is like ten million Suns.
शूलटङ्कपाशदण्डपाणिमादिकारणं
श्यामकायमादिदेवमक्षरं निरामयम् ।
भीमविक्रमं प्रभुं विचित्रताण्डवप्रियं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥३॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
यः विचित्रस्य ताण्डवस्य प्रियःअस्ति | यः प्रभुः अस्ति | यः भीमविक्रमः अस्ति | यः निरामयः अस्ति | यः अक्षरः अस्ति |
यःआदिदेवः अस्ति | यस्य कायः श्यामः अस्ति | यस्य कारणं आदौ वर्तते | यस्य पाणिषु शूलः टङ्कः पाशः दण्डः च वर्तन्ते ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, who is beloved of the strange frantic dance ( tANDava) , who is extremely powerful, who is of terrific prowess, who is free from illness, who is imperishable, who is the first heavanly divine being, whose body is dark blue, and in whose hands the there is the Trident, a hatchet, a noose and a club.
भुक्तिमुक्तिदायकं प्रशस्तचारुविग्रहं
भक्तवत्सलं स्थितं समस्तलोकविग्रहम् ।
विनिक्वणन्मनोज्ञहेमकिङ्किणीलसत्कटिं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥४॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
यस्य कटौ मनोज्ञाभिःवि-निवणन्तीभिः
किङ्किण्यःलसन्त्यःहेमानि सन्ति | लोकानां यस्य विग्रहः समस्तः अस्ति | यः स्थितः अस्ति | यः स्वभक्तान् वत्सलः अस्ति |
यस्य विग्रहः चारुः प्रशस्तः अस्ति | यः भुक्तेः मुक्तेः च दायकः अस्ति ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, on whose hip there are small shinning gold bells with a pleasing tinkering sound, whose form of all worlds are combined as one, who is standing firm ( in battle), who is affectionate to his own devotees, whose form is pleasing and auspicious, and who is the bestower of worldly pleasures and liberation ( from the cycle of birth and death) .
धर्मसेतुपालकं त्वधर्ममार्गनाशकं
कर्मपाशमोचकं सुशर्मदायकं विभुम् ।
स्वर्णवर्णशेषपाशशोभिताङ्गमण्डलं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥५॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
शोभितानाम् अङ्गानां यस्य मण्डलम् स्वर्णवर्णै शेषैः पाशं भवति |
यः विभुः | यः सुशर्मणः दायकः अस्ति | यः कर्मणां पाशान् मोचकः अस्ति | यः तु अधर्मस्य मार्गाणां नाशकः अस्ति | यः धर्मस्य सेतूनां पालकः अस्ति||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, whose circular beautiful limbs are tied with golden colored snakes, who is omnipotent, who is the bestower of good protection, who liberates the ties of karmas (actions) but who is the destroyer of the paths of adharma ( unrighteousness) and who is the protector of the established institutions of Dharma ( righteousness )
रत्नपादुकाप्रभाभिरामपादयुग्मकं
नित्यमद्वितीयमिष्टदैवतं निरंजनम् ।
मृत्युदर्पनाशनं करालदंष्ट्रमोक्षणं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥६॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
यस्य मोक्षणं करालैः दंष्ट्रैःअस्ति | यः मृत्योः दर्पं नाशनः भवति |
यः निरंजनः अस्ति | यः नित्यः अद्वितीयः इष्टः दैवतः अस्ति | पादयोः यस्य युग्मकं रत्नैः पादुकाभ्याम् प्रभाभ्याम् अभिरामम् अस्ति ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, whose pair of feet are pleasing with both shining Sandals with jewels, who is the desired God second to none and eternal, who is pure, who is the destroys the arrogance of death, whose liberation with his large fangs are formidable, ( fangs remove the fear of death) .
अट्टहासभिन्नपद्मजाण्डकोशसंततिं
दृष्टिपातनष्टपापजालमुग्रशासनम् ।
अष्टसिद्धिदायकं कपालमालिकाधरं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥७॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
यः कपालानां मालिकायाः धरं करोति | यः अष्ट-सिद्धेः दायकः अस्ति | पापानां जालस्य यस्य उग्रं शासनं दृष्टेः पातेन नष्टम्
अस्ति | पद्मजाण्डस्य ( ब्रह्माण्ड) कोशस्य यस्य संततिः तस्य अट्टेन हासेन भिन्ना अस्ति ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, whose expanse of the sheath of Brahma's egg ( the mundane world) is shattered by his loud laughter, whose mighty rule is the net of sins is destroyed with the cast of a glance , who is the bestower of the eight spiritual powers , and who wears a garland of skulls.
भूतसंघनायकं विशालकीर्तिदायकं
काशिवासलोकपुण्यपापशोधकं विभुम् ।
नीतिमार्गकोविदं पुरातनं जगत्पतिं
काशिकापुराधिनाथकालभैरवं भजे ॥८॥
अहं कालभैरवं भजे | यःकाशिका-पुरस्य अधिनाथःअस्ति |
सः यः जगतः पतिः अस्ति | यः पुरातनः अस्ति |यः नीतेः मार्गे कोविदः अस्ति | यः विभुः अस्ति | यः काशौ सर्वेषु लोकेषु पुण्यानां पापानां च शोधकः अस्ति ये काशौ वसन्ति | यः किशालायाः कीर्देः दायकःअस्ति | यः भूतानां संघानां नायकः अस्ति ||
i worship Kalabhairava who is the supreme lord of the city of Kashi, he who is the lord of the universe, who is ancient, who is skilled on the path of wise moral conduct , who is the supreme ruler, who is purifier of merits and sins of those who reside in the city of Kashi, who bestows eminent fame and who is the leader of multitudes of Ghosts.
कालभैरवाष्टकं पठंति ये मनोहरं
ज्ञानमुक्तिसाधनं विचित्रपुण्यवर्धनम् ।
शोकमोहदैन्यलोभकोपतापनाशनं
प्रयान्ति कालभैरवांघ्रिसन्निधिं नरा ध्रुवम् ॥९॥
ये कालभैरवं मनोहरम् पठन्ति | यद् ज्ञानस्य मुक्तेः च साधनम् करोति | यद् विचित्रस्य पुण्यस्य वर्धनम् करोति | यद् शोकस्य मोहस्य दैन्यस्य लोभस्य कोपस्य तापस्य च नाशनं करोति | नराः कालभैरवस्य अङ्घ्रौ संनिधौ ध्रुवं प्रयान्ति ||
Those who recite the fascinating Kalabhairava Astakam, which leads to the goal of liberation and knowledge, which increases various merits which destroys mental affliction, anger confusion,depression, delusions and sorrows. Those people certainly advance towards the vicinity at the feet of Lord Kalabhairava.
